Yadavagiri Ladies Association turns 50

February 19, 2019

Mysuru: The 50th anniversary of Yadavagiri Ladies Association was celebrated in city recently. This Ladies Association was launched by the then Maharani Tripura Sundarammanni Avaru in 1968 and the Maharani’s daughter-in-law Pramoda Devi Wadiyar was the chief guest both during the 25th and 50th anniversary celebrations at the same hotel in Yadavagiri.  The Association is managed by a five-member Committee elected once a year. Usually, the new Committee assumes charge in the first week of January.

The uniqueness of this Association is that they have around 20 ladies, who have been members since the inception.  The membership is restricted to residents of Yadavagiri area only. As the Association does not have a building of its own, Sunanda Academy, a school in the locality, provides them a classroom and its ground for their activities which are held on Saturdays as the school closes by afternoon.
