Yoga Vibhushana, Yoga Bhushana awards presented to achievers

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that Yoga is not merely physical movements of the body but is also very much representative of the country’s culture, Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa said that attempts to divide the country by anti-national elements must be thwarted at all costs

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Yoga Vibhushana’ and ‘Yoga Bhushana’ awards presentation programme jointly organised by District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Himalaya Pratishtana at District Sahitya Bhavan premises in Vijayanagar here recently.

Pointing out that the country has retained its rich culture and heritage despite numerous attacks by anti-national and other disruptive forces, Cariappa said that nature is being seen in the country as one of the many forms of the almighty. Our culture is very much symbolic of our country, he said and stressed on the need for conserving and nurturing our Mother Earth.

Noting that there is nothing more important than having education, Cariappa opined that we can learn all-important ‘Samskara’ through education.

Yogi Srinivas Arka was conferred ‘Yoga Vibhushana’ award  while  Dr. Devaki Madhav, Geetha Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Narasimha Shetty, Rakesh Jain and Ravi Prabhakar were conferred ‘Yoga Bhushana’ award on the occasion.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, social worker Raghuram Vajpayee, Mysuru Yoga Association Vice-President Yoga Prakash, Muktaka Writer Kamala Rajesh, farmer leader Chandan Gowda, Congress leader N.M. Naveen Kumar, Himalaya Pratishtana President N. Anantha, Yoga teachers Venkatesh Iyer, Ramesh Shetty and others were present at the event.
