Young Indians Parliament: Calling Schools

May 6, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: The Young Indians (Yi) Mysuru Chapter, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), invites schools across Mysuru and surrounding regions to nominate students from Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 for the second edition of the Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2026, scheduled to be held in June 2026.

YiP is a flagship national initiative aimed at building civic consciousness, leadership capability and policy literacy among school students through immersive parliamentary experience.

Following the success of YiP 2025, which saw participation from over 100 students, with five from Mysuru advancing to the National Round, the 2026 edition is set to scale participation and impact significantly.

With the theme “Where Young Minds Shape the Nation — Debate, Decide, Drive,” YiP offers students a unique opportunity to engage in parliamentary simulations, policy debates and decision-making exercises.

Participants will gain hands-on exposure to: Public speaking and debate; Critical thinking and problem-solving; Policy awareness & governance processes; Leadership & negotiation skills.

YiP follows a three-tier progression model comprising City Rounds, Regional Rounds and National Finals, enabling top-performing students to progress and gain national-level recognition and exposure.

Yi Mysuru invites schools (both urban and rural) to participate in this initiative by nominating their students and encouraging them to be part of a platform that nurtures informed, responsible and future-ready citizens.
