Mysuru: In a bizarre incident, a youth who was invited for a birthday party was assaulted by another youth in K.R.Mohalla on Dec.25.

Following an invite, Aditya Manjunath Gowda, a resident of K.R.Mohalla, went to a spot near Mahadeshwara Temple on 14th Cross of Ramanuja Road for a birthday party on Dec.25, when he was suddenly assaulted with an iron rod by his friend Ravi alias Avinash, when the birthday cake was being cut. Ravi is  also said to have stabbed Aditya on his chest with a knife and verbally abused him. The injured Aditya was rushed to a private hospital, where his condition is said to be stable. Following a complaint by Aditya, K.R. Police have registered an attempt to murder case against Ravi.
