Mysuru:  In the light of a youth trying to commit suicide by climbing the electric pole near K.R. Circle being rescued comes another news that one more youth climbed the high tension electric pole in Ramakrishnanagar yesterday to end his life.

Mysuru taluk Yadahalli village resident Shankar, 23, is the youth who climbed the pole and threatened to end his life. Yesterday around 1.15 pm, Shankar climbed the high tension electric pole near Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Circle and started shouting that he would commit suicide by jumping from the pole.

The passersby who noticed this drama informed the Police. Kuvempunagar Police came along with the Fire Brigade personnel and had to make a lot of effort to save him.

“The girl whom I had loved rejected me. I am also in debt. Who can save me now?” he was heard wailing from a height of 40 feet pole. “If anyone of you climb the pole and come near me I will touch the high tension wire and die,” he threatened.

The Fire Brigade Personnel convinced him not to take the extreme step and slowly brought him down and handed him over to the Police. Later, Kuvempunagar Police took him to the Station.

He revealed to the Police during interrogation that he was unemployed and had bborrowed moneyheavily. Scared of the lenders, he resorted to this step.
