Youth hacked to death near H.D. Kote

H.D. Kote: A youth, who was accused of allegedly sending a message to a woman, has been hacked to death at Nerale village near H.D. Kote and his body was found near the Kabini Left Bank Road yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Bhanuprakash (23), son of Puttaswamy of Nerale village, who was working as a tractor driver.

It is learnt that Bhanuprakash had sent a message to the mobile phone of a woman from the same village and a big fight had broken due to it. The village elders held a panchayat and a truce was brokered between the two families.

But yesterday morning, the villagers found the body of Bhanuprakash and immediately informed the Police. Antharasanthe Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection and identified the body as that of Bhanuprakash alias Siddu.

The Police, who swung into action immediately, took a few people into custody for questioning and it is learnt that the Cops had also arrested a few people. As soon as the murder news spread like wildfire, villagers began to arrive in large numbers causing tension at the spot.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Latkar, Additional SP Nandini, Hunsur Sub-Division Dy.SP Mahesh, Inspector Lakshmi and Sub-Inspector Ravishankar reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigation.

The body of Bhanuprakash was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary in Mysuru, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members. Police personnel have been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incidents from taking place.
