Youth harasses minor girl, sent to jail

September 6, 2018

Mysuru: A youth and his parents, who have allegedly assaulted a minor girl’s mother and her sister have landed themselves in trouble with the Udayagiri Police registering a complaint against them.

Gayathripuram’s Chandan is the youth and his parents are Suresh and Lalitha. According to the complaint filed by the minor girl’s elder sister, who herself is a minor, Chandan, who is a relative, used to frequently tease and harass her sister asking her to marry him. The minor girl is a tenth standard student.

On hearing about the harassment, the girl’s parents called the boy to their house and advised him not to harass their daughter. They also told the boy’s parents about his behaviour and asked them to see that he keeps away from their daughter. However, the youth continued with his crude behaviour.

On Sept. 4, the girl’s mother called the boy again in the night and in a loud voice asked him to stay off from her daughter. Immediately, Chandan and his parents came to the girl’s house. Chandan abuses the minor’s mother in vile words.

Even as she advised the boy’s parents to teach their son a lesson in proper behaviour, they both pounced on her and attacked her. Meanwhile, Chandan also assaulted the minor girl’s elder sister and beat her up with a stone lying nearby.

Both the mother and daughter suffered injuries and later were treated at a private hospital. Chandan, before leaving with his parents, again in a loud voice threatened that he would kill all of them if they did  not give the minor girl in marriage to him and stomped out along with his parents. The elder sister then filed a complaint against all the three, under IPC Sections, 341, 323, 354, 504, 506 read with 34.

Udayagiri Police, based on the complaint, arrested Chandan and produced him before the Court yesterday. He was later sent to jail.
