Mysore/Mysuru: Yelwal Police have cracked the murder mystery behind a charred body that was found in a pit near Hosakote in KRS Backwaters recently, by arresting the grandson of the victim.
The murdered woman has been identified as Sulochana (75) of Gayathripuram in Mysuru and the accused is Supreeth, aged 23 years.
On May 31, Yelwal Police had found a partially burnt body of a woman in the pit near KRS Backwaters. The investigators had picked up Supreeth for questioning, when the murder mystery came to light.
Supreeth has reportedly told the Police: “My grandmother was always scolding and so I killed her.” After murdering her, he had reportedly packed the body in a plastic gunny bag and kept it in a cardboard box and transported in the car to the pit near KRS Backwaters, where he set it on fire. Interestingly, Supreeth had driven to the Police Station in the car with his grandmother’s body inside, when he lodged a missing complaint.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Latkar has lauded Circle Police Inspector (CPI) G. Swarna and team for cracking the case.
