Youth killed, another injured as car rams into roadside tree

Mysore/Mysuru: A 25-year-old youth was killed, while another suffered serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree near Kukkarahalli Lake late Wednesday night.

While the deceased has been identified as Arunkumar, a native of Channapatna, the seriously injured is Mani, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city.

It is learnt that Arunkumar, along with his friends Shivakumar, who was behind the wheels, Mani and Sunil, were proceeding towards T.K. Layout on Wednesday night, when Shivakumar lost control of the car and rammed into a roadside tree.

Arunkumar, who was seated on the rear seat of the car, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where he breathed his last. Mani, who too suffered serious injuries, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Luckily, Shivakumar and Sunil have escaped with minor injuries.

A case has been registered at K.R. Traffic Police Station.
