March 2, 2019

Mysuru:  A 20-year-old youth was killed in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the wee hours of today. The victim has been identified as Mahendra, son of M. Nagaraja Murthy.

Mahendra is a resident of Ukkalagere Village in T. Narasipur and was travelling daily from Bilugali village in Nanjangud. He worked as a loader at Mysuru APMC. Family members said that Mahendra used to travel on his bike (KA-09-HJ-1895) early to APMC as trucks would come to the Yard overnight.

According to his daily routine, Mahendra started from his home at 3.30 am and he was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on the Ring Road at around 4.15 am. After hitting Mahendra’s bike, the other vehicle fled from the spot.

Some passers-by found Mahendra in a pool of blood and rushed him to K.R. Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
