Youth slips to death from third floor

Mysore/Mysuru: A 23-year-old youth died after slipping from the third floor of the house at Kuvempunagar in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased is Shashi, a native of Hubballi. He was working as a cook with one Phanikumar, a catering contractor and was staying with two other workers at a room on the third floor in Phanikumar’s house.

On Sunday at about 3 am, Shashi got up for a smoke and was trying to sit on the retaining wall when he accidentally fell down. The incident has been captured by the CCTV camera installed at the house.

The incident came to light when Phanikumar, who stays in the ground floor, got up at about 6.15 am and came out of the house. He immediately informed the Police and Kuvempunagar Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case of unnatural death.

Inspector Raju said that Shashi does not have parents and the body was handed over to his sister and brother-in-law after post-mortem.
