Youth who stole cop’s bike arrested while trying to sell bike’s engine

Mysore/Mysuru: A 20-year-old youth, who had stolen the bike of a Policeman in front of V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station recently, has been arrested by Hebbal Police when he (accused) was trying to sell the bike’s engine near Abhishek Circle on Mar. 13.

The arrested youth is Umesh, a resident of Belavatha in city.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing the Hero Honda bike (KA-09-EC-6361) in front of V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station and selling it as spares after disassembling it. He is said to have told the Police that he was trying to sell the bike’s engine for  Rs. 8,000.
