Youth’s body found in pit

May 29, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: A body of a youth has been found in a pit dug up to construct a sump at a place in Vijayanagar, where a hospital is to  come up.

The deceased youth has been identified as Cristo Cherian (35), son of K.M. Cherian, Proprietor of Ses Engineering Works and a resident of Vijayanagar 1st Stage.

On Saturday at about 7 pm, Cristo left his house leaving his mobile phone behind but had not returned to his house.

Yesterday morning, his body was found in the pit near his house and it is suspected that Cristo may have accidentally fell into the pit on the roadside, suffered internal injuries to his head and may have died.

Vijayanagar Inspector Pradeep and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem and have registered a case of unnatural death.

It is learnt that one Dr. Sharathchandra had proposed to construct a hospital and the pit was dug up to construct a water sump.
