Yuva Sangeetha Sambhrama-2020: Vocal concert by Vidu. S. Chaithrika tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: An online vocal concert by city’s young talent, Vidu. S. Chaithrika will be premièred on the YouTube channel of Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, as the next concert under its ongoing series, ‘Yuva Sangeetha Sambhrama – 2020,’ at 5 pm on Dec. 12, showcasing promising young artistes.

Chaithrika was initiated into classical music by her grandmother, Vidu. Indira Shankar from a very early age. Later she came under the tutelage of Mysuru’s senior musician and scholar, ‘Sangeetha Saraswathi’ Vidu. R.N. Shreelatha, where she still continues her higher studies.

Chaithrika has secured State-level first rank in senior and fourth rank in pre-Vidwat classical music examinations conducted by KSEE Board. 

She gave her first concert at the age of eleven and has performed in almost all the Sabhas in Mysuru and several other places including many online platforms of reputed Sabhas.

She is a recipient of scholarship from Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, first prize in Ranjan Harve Memorial State-level Raga-Tana-Pallavi competition and second prize for singing in National Youth Festival conducted by the Association of Indian Universities, representing Mysuru University. Chaithrika was interviewed by AIR under ‘Pratibha Pallava’ programme and has been honoured by many organisations for her achievements in music.

In this concert, she will be accompanied by talented young artistes, Vid. Amogh Nadadur on violin, Vid. Y.P. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga and Vid. Shamith S. Gowda on ghata.
