This high-mast lighting system  never turned on

April 9, 2017

Mysuru – The high-mast lighting system installed near Srinivasa Theatre in Bannimantap a couple of years ago has not yet started functioning.

Meanwhile, BJP leader of the Ward Dhanraj has complained that the MCC staff have taken away parts of the high-mast lighting system in the name of repair works.

The system, said to be installed two years ago by spending Rs. 5.50 lakh from G. Madhusudan’s MLC Fund, had not been inaugurated and is never turned on.

Complaints to MCC JE Lokesh and AEE Suresh Babu had also yielded no result though MCC staff were sent to look into the matter. Dhanraj also alleged that the MCC had fixed only 6 bulbs and 6 chokes in place of 12 each.

He also questioned the MCC as to how the bills of contractor concerned were cleared despite the high-mast lighting system not working for the last two years. He has urged senior officials to conduct enquiry into the matter and get this lighting system restored.
