Jail inmate dies of illness

Mysuru: An inmate, who was serving a sentence at Nanjangud Sub Jail in regards to a theft case and admitted to K.R. Hospital due to illness, died at the hospital on Tuesday after failing to respond to the treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi (48), a resident of Tagadur village in Nanjangud taluk.

It is reported that Ravi, who was sentenced in a theft case in 2016 and  undergoing imprisonment at Nanjangud Sub Jail, was admitted to Nanjangud General Hospital following severe stomach ache and vomiting. He was taken to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru after the illness escalated where he breathed his last yesterday morning.  

Nanjangud Police have registered a case in this regard.
