Leopard trapped in Hunsur

Hunsur: A four-year-old leopard, which had caused panic among the residents of Shanthipura village in Hunsur, was trapped by the Forest Department on the night of Apr. 18 by placing a cage in the field belonging to one Elizabeth Rani.

It is reported that following the disappearance of pet dogs during nights, the villagers who suspected the presence of a leopard in the area, had informed the same to the Forest Department officials, who had kept a cage in the field belonging to one Elizabeth.

The leopard, which walked into the cage, was trapped in it on Apr. 18.

The Forest officials later released the leopard into the Nagarahole Forest.
