Run over by KSRTC bus, biker killed

In a tragic incident, a 53-year-old man, who was returning home on a bike after attending the last rites of a relative was killed on the spot when a KSRTC bus ran over his bike at the Hinkal junction of the Outer Ring Road yesterday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Ramanna, resident of Pampinna Hosahalli village in Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya.

It is reported that the KSRTC bus (KA-01 F-9207) while crossing the signal near Hinkal,  rammed into Hero Honda Passion Pro bike (KA-09 FS-9204) on which Ramanna was returning home after attending the last rites of a relative in Belavadi, killing him on the spot.

V.V.Puram Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, shifted the body to MMC&RI, where the body was handed over to relatives after post-mortem. Police have taken bus driver Chandrakumar into custody.
