1,188 cases settled at National Lok Adalat held across District

Mysuru: Over 1,188 cases of various nature were settled amicably at National Lok Adalat held across the district on Sunday.

The nationwide National Lok Adalat was conducted at 22 benches and long-pending issues were settled.

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) had identified more than 3,149 cases in the district and notices were issued.

All civil cases, land acquisition matters, compoundable criminal cases, matrimonial disputes, motor accidents claim petitions, cheque dishonour cases under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act and pre-litigation disputes were settled through this Alternate Dispute Resolution mechanism. Cases related to domestic violence were disposed off in large numbers and the arbitrators found solutions in 179 cases against 894 pre-litigation disputes.
