Belagavi: Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa said that 20,000 teachers will be appointed to schools and PU colleges after the completion of the ongoing inner reservation survey.
He was speaking after inaugurating new classrooms at the Government PU College at Bailhongal in Belagavi yesterday.
Stating that 57 lakh school children of 46,000 schools are being provided eggs and banana as part of Mid-Day Meal scheme, he said that this is being done to ensure nutrition among children.
Noting that the State Govt. is conducting free NEET, CET, JEE coaching classes for poor students, the Minister claimed that such an initiative is the first one in the country. Measures will be taken to extend this facility to cover all students, he added.
Pointing out that electricity is being supplied for free to Government schools, the Minister outlined the measures taken by the State Government to ensure quality education and training to poor students. He lauded the Government PU College at Bailhongal as a model one.
