December 19, 2022

Bylakuppe: Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society President B.V. Javaregowda said that the world can see an end to wars, conflicts, attacks, invasion and the like if everyone follows the peace and harmony mantra of Tibetan Spiritual Guru Dalai Lama.

He was speaking  at the 33rd anniversary celebration of conferment of Nobel Prize on the 14th Dalai Lama, organised by the Central Tibetan Administration at Bylakuppe in Periyapatna taluk recently.

Pointing out that the violation of human rights by any country or any people cannot be tolerated, Javaregowda said it is the duty of all to respect the fundamental rights of human beings.

Observing that the Nobel Peace Prize conferred on the Dalai Lama is symbolic of the Lama’s movement and struggle for the cause of human rights, he wanted the Indian Government to bestow the country’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ on the Dalai Lama.

Ven. Khenrinpoche Tashi Tsethar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appealed the Tibetan community to strengthen the hands of the Dalai Lama in the fight for freedom of Tibet.

Guru Nyima, Settlement Officer and Choephel Thupten, Member of Parliament of Tibetan Government in Exile, read the statement released by the Tibetan Government and Tibetan Parliament in Exile, respectively.

Meritorious students, long serving Officers and personnel and progressive farmers of Tibetan community were felicitated on the occasion.

Tibetan Justice Commissioner Tenzin, Settlement Officer Chime Dorje, ex-MP Jigme, Executive members of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society and others were present.
