68 percent house-to-house survey completed in rural areas: ZP CEO

Mysore/Mysuru: Nearly 68 percent of houses have been covered under house-to-house survey in rural areas, said Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) A.M. Yogesh, who is also the Convener of Rural Task Force Committee.

Sharing this information at Task Force Committee meeting yesterday, he said there are 1,760 villages, 266 Gram Panchayats in eight taluks with 3,29,746 families. ASHA, Anganwadi and Health volunteers visited 3,29,746 houses and collected information and the rest 1.17 lakh families will be covered soon. Percentage of coverage is as follows: 

T. Narasipur – 93.5 percent, Hunsur – 91.7 percent, Periyapatna – 90.4 percent, H.D. Kote – 57.5 percent, K.R.Nagar – 77.4 percent, Mysuru Taluk – 41.5 percent, Nanjangud – 59.7 percent and Saragur – 32.9 percent.

Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda  said that as part of “Vaidyara Nade, Halliya Kade,” five ambulances have been given to each taluk. Each ambulance with a doctor, nurse, ASHA worker and a swab collector will visit every village. This programme will be formally inaugurated by District Minister S.T. Somashekar.

The Task Force meeting discussed the progress of house-to-house survey, visit to Covid Mitra Centres to hear problems and examine arrangements and to review vaccination. The Health Department officers were asked to take action against clinics in rural areas which were violating safety protocol. 

ZP Dy.  Secretary Dr. Krishnaraju, DHO Dr. T. Amarnath, MYLAC Chairman N.V. Phanish, Compost Corporation Chairman S. Mahadevaiah, Khadi and Village Industries Board Chairman Krishnappa were present.
