Mysuru-based IM M.S. Thejkumar, taking part in the 7th Dhamso International Chess Festival at Sri Lanka won the title by securing 9 points from 9 rounds in the tournament held from Apr.28 to May 2.

Thejkumar had wins over De Vas Gunawardhane (SL), Jaysenthvigme Vinumi Vidara (SL), Sirimewan K. Harsreli (SL), De Silva Shelani (SL), Egodage Thilina (SL), Piyumontha M. Sajith Nipun (SL), Abhishek Das (IND), Alahakoon Isuru (SL) and Dickmadugodage Ravi Prabath (SL).
