On March 21, 2023, a 15-hour search was launched to check for rowdy elements, contraband and narcotics in jail, transportation of cash, liquor and election freebies on the roads and search for weapons in the houses of 50 rowdy-sheeters. Today’s raid began at 5 am in all the Police Station limits of the city and concluded at around 7.30 am where the rowdy-sheeters were warned not to carry out any illegal activities including threatening and blackmailing voters ahead of and after the elections.
The raid was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj and the ACPs, Inspectors and staff under his command. During the operation, one rowdy-sheeter Shoaib, who was banished from Mysuru City to Chikkaballapur as he was suspected of creating trouble, was found sleeping inside his house.
