Pride of Karnataka – ‘Banada Baduku’ series

Mysuru: A wildlife photography expo titled ‘Pride of Karnataka — Banada Baduku series by Lokesh Mosale’ has been organised at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, near Airforce Bal Bharati School, Institutional Area, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi, from Dec.6 to 12.

The event, organised in association with the State Tourism and Information Departments, throws light on the wildlife and tourism in Karnataka.

Lokesh Mosale is one of the famous names in Karnataka when it comes to wildlife photography. Born in a small village called Mosale, he has travelled a long way in the field of journalism as well. He started as a scribe with Lankesh Patrike and taught Journalism in the University of Mysore for a decade and finally gave for his boyhood ambition of being a wildlife photographer.

Over the past two decades, he has explicitly captured life forms in their natural habitat. Be it a snoozing leopard on a tree or a pelican swooping low upon the water. He travels voraciously and captures images of wildlife beyond their beauty narrating the story of the life form on focus. His photo features published in local media have rang alarm bell driving the authorities on to their toes. As though not to end his concerns for wildlife there, he visits children in the schools to share this knowledge and concerns about nature.

His exclusive photographic works titled ‘Kaadu Badukina Haadu Paadu’ saw their debut expo at Lankesh Gallery, Rangayana in Mysuru in 2003. Two years later, he put his wildlife pictures as ‘Banada Baduku’ at Chitrakala Parishat, Bengaluru and then on he repeated the shows on three more occasions showcasing his rich and increasing collections.
