Specially-abled children among nine persons missing from city

Mysuru:  In separate incidents, two specially-abled children are among nine persons, who have gone missing from city.

In the first incident, two specially-abled children have gone missing from the Deaf and Dumb School Hostel at Tilaknagar here since May 27.

The missing children are 16-year-old Neeraj Chouhan and 14-year-old Nawaz Kumar, both inmates of the hostel.

The duo, after having their dinner at about 7.45 pm on May 27, has gone missing from the hostel.

In the second incident, 33-year-old Harish, a security guard at a private firm has gone missing from city, according to a complaint lodged by his mother Leelavathi at V.V. Puram Police Station.

In the third case, 23-year-old Priyadarshini, has gone missing from her house from May 26, according to a complaint lodged by her grandfather Eeraiah with the Police.

In the fourth case, 40-year-old Chandrika, a mentally challenged woman, who left her house on Oct. 1, 2018, has gone missing.

In the fifth case, 23-year-old youth Vasanthkumar, who left his house for work on the morning of May 5, has not returned since then, according to a complaint lodged by his father at Vijayanagar Police Station.

Vasanthkumar is 5.5 ft in height, medium built, oily red in complexion and speaks Kannada.

In the sixth case, 20-year-old Jyothi and 19-year-old Deepu, who were sheltered in a shelter home run by the Women and Child Welfare Department, have gone missing from the shelter home since June 2, according to a complaint lodged by the shelter home Superintendent at Vijayanagar Police Station.

Both of them are 5 ft in height and speak Kannada. Those having any information about Vasanthkumar, Jyothi and Deepu, may contact Vijayanagar Police Station on Ph: 0821- 2418117/317.

Bengaluru contractor missing

In the seventh case, a contractor from Bengaluru, who had come to Mysuru on May 27 for a Railway tender process, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances in city.

The missing contractor is 44-year-old D. Gopalakrishna, a resident of Byraveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru.

According to the complaint lodged by his wife M. Sumathi with Mandi Police, Gopalakrishna used to frequent Mysuru to obtain a tender at the Railways Department since about 2-3 months and on May 27, he (Gopalakrishna) left to Mysuru for the tender.

She has further stated in her complaint that her husband had called her over the phone on May 27 saying that he was on his way to the Mysuru Railway Station and later the phone was switched off. The next day, Gopalakrishna had called her (Sumathi) from a different number and told her that he had lost his phone and would tell her everything when he came to Bengaluru, but had not come back, the complaint stated.
