Mysuru: The following students of Acharya Vidya Kula (AVK), Mysuru, have excelled in Chess and Gymnastics contests:

Prasiddhi  Bhat (Class VIII) secured the first position and M.N. Spurthi (Class VII) secured fifth place in the Regional Chess Tournament conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) at Bengaluru recently. They have qualified to be part of the team from Karnataka at the ICSE National Chess Tournament in the U-14 Girls category.

Kushboo Salecha (Class IX) secured II position in All Round Individual Championship in the U-17 Girls category in the Gymnastics Competition conducted by the CISCE at Bengaluru recently. She also secured second position in the following events: Table Vault, Uneven Bars, Floor Exercise and Balancing Beam. She qualified to be a part of the team from Karnataka at the ICSE National Competition to be held at Mumbai later this year.
