In the absence of medicines to cure COVID-19, social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene are very important to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. Though Government is increasing awareness about these in the public, when it comes to implementation, both the people and the authorities are failing at many places to adopt social distancing in public places, especially during mass distribution of essential materials to the needy or when public come on to the roads to buy their daily needs at vegetable or meat markets. Every day at least one such incident is seen in newspapers about violation of social distancing. 

Social distancing is missing even in functions attended by senior level administrators. There is an incident wherein 15 Government officials, who participated in a rally organised by a local MLA to distribute the food materials in Andhra Pradesh. With the fear of rising number of asymptomatic Corona cases, everyone in the society, irrespective of their status and position, should follow the social distancing norm till the virus is eliminated from this world.

Every person in our country need to wear the face mask and maintain personal hygiene (mainly hand washing, not touching eyes, nose and mouth with unhygienic hands, etc.) and adopt environmental hygiene (not to cough or sneeze or blow the nose in open air or spitting saliva or paan, gutka masala, etc.). Otherwise, we may have to see its dire consequences, due to high density of population, especially in crowded cities and towns of our country.
