Government urges people to follow COVID safety norms strictly
Mysore/Mysuru: Following pressure from travel, tourism and hospitality industry, the State Government has revoked the orders on closure of all important tourist places in both Mysuru and Mandya districts.
On Friday, a delegation of travel, tourism and hotel associations met Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa in city and had appealed him to reconsider the District Administration’s order on closure of tourism spots till Nov. 1.
Responding to their plea, the CM had asked Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri to reconsider her decision.
This morning, District Minister S.T. Somashekar announced revoking of the DC’s order and said important tourist destinations like Mysore Palace, Mysuru Zoo, Chamundi Hill, Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, Nanjangud’s Srikan-teshwaraswamy Temple in Mysuru district; and Brindavan Gardens, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary will also be thrown open to tourists during Dasara season.
However, the State Government has urged the tourists to follow all COVID safety norms compulsorily.
This is an open invitation to COVID 19 to march on. Is the government really serious in controlling Covid 19 or trying the herd immunity card?
Aa bail mujhe maar
Good GOD, Govt. do not know what they are doing. Local officials ban entries for people, as they are answerable to spread of pandemic. CM opens the flood gate for people and the spread of CORONA. No one can save this state from spread of COVID 19. Tomorrow there will be a delegation wanting CM to vacate his chair? will CM comply?
The Karnataka government itself is responsible for spreading the Corona Virus. PM Modi is gutless to instruct Yedi the horrible RSS Cheddi to stop this nonsense. He should have ordered cancellation of Dasara. In way, the government is helping private hospitals, as they fleece patients to treat Corona Virus.
Only the other day the new DC was requesting the health authorities to stop the spread of the Virus, and now, the minister just overrides her order and instructs these places to be remain open for the tourist crowd.
What is the purpose of creating the IAS cadre of officers, only to make them subservient to ministers? Remember, it was the great Patel the so called Moderniser of India, who retained the ICS=like cadre, named it as IAS, against the objection of Nehru who wanted this cadre to be abolished as independent India wanted a new framework of officers, unlike those in British Raj.
I have seen many of these IS officer who orders citizens about and show their authority, to behave as servants to minsters. If they do not, in this case, this DC will be posted to Mangaluru harbour to count the fish box expoerts!
