‘I have made lot of efforts for Tulsidas Hospital renovation,’ says former MLA M.K. Somashekar

May 7, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that he had made a lot of efforts for the renovation of Seth Mohandas Tulasidas Maternity and Children Hospital on JLB road when he was the MLA, former K.R. MLA M.K. Somashekar of the Congress party has strongly objected to the current MLA S.A. Ramdas taking all the credit for the Hospital.

Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan near City Railway Station yesterday morning, Somashekar said that the Hospital has now been readied as a 100 oxygen bed COVID Hospital. Although he is happy to note that the Hospital has come as a big relief for COVID patients who are in need of oxygen, at the same time he is disappointed that his contribution for the construction of the new building has been ignored. Accusing MLA Ramdas of falsely claiming credit for the construction of the new building, the former MLA said that the then Chief Minister Siddharamaiah had performed  ‘Guddali Puja’ (ground breaking ceremony) for the new building on Mar.10, 2018. Highlighting his efforts for the construction of the new building, Somashekar said that he has papers as proof of the efforts he had made. Reiterating that Ramdas was falsely taking sole credit for the Hospital’s  new building, Somashekar accused the MLA of failing to bring any grants or projects for the development of the Constituency during  the past three years.

Charging Ramdas of failing to come to the rescue of COVID affected, he alleged that Ramdas was staying away  from the District Minister S.T. Somashekar’s programmes, as he does not maintain a cordial relationship with him.
