Covid negative report mandatory for passengers

Bengaluru: After remaining suspended for over two months owing to Covid-induced lockdown, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Monday resumed its bus services to Kerala.

However, the passengers need to produce their Covid-19 negative report before boarding the bus, as per a State Government order.

In the absence of a negative report, the passenger should have proof of at least one dose of the vaccine. The driver and the conductor of the bus should mandatorily have a Covid  negative report.

Border district officials have been asked to verify documents at the check-post before the bus enters the State, the order added.

Following a surge in Covid cases, the State Government had announced a lockdown leading to suspension of the bus services. Now, with the rapid decline in the cases, the transport services have been resumed, a Government official said.
