Nearly half of candidates skip NDA exam in city

November 14, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Nearly half of the candidates who had opted for Mysuru Centres, abstained for the prestigious NDA(ii) (National  Defence Academy) exam that was conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) today across the country.

In Mysuru, the exam was held at four centres — Banumaiah College, Marimallappa College, Maharani’s College for Women and Maharaja’s College. Out of the 658 candidates who had registered for the exam in these centres, only 350 appeared, while 308 were absent, according to sources.

The NDA exam is conducted by the UPSC for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the NDA. This exam is a gateway for candidates looking forward to joining the Defence Dorces. The exam consisted of two papers — Mathematics and GAT (General Ability Test).

DDPUE D.K. Srinivasa Murthy visited all the four exam centres and reviewed the conduct of exam.

For the first time, women candidates were allowed to write the exam. Hitherto, only male candidates were allowed to appear for the NDA exam. But the Supreme Court recently changed that rule and allowed women candidates to appear for the exam and subsequently, over two lakh women candidates had applied for the exam across the country, it is learnt.

Can’t blame them. I worked on a short servcice comission in the 80s and there was a lot of respect for people serving in the Arm forces! It was a matter of pride! Today, the new brand of secularism has infected the nation with soical media fanning the flames!Nation is rotting!! Institutions like JNU, our ploticians routinely and convenently call Army me as rapists, thiefs and all kind of derogatory names if it serves their agenda! Foriegn press routinly calls the Armed foces as goons and watched painfully the beating up of a Navy veteral in Maharashtra by the Shiva sena thugs and all our media was showing was how the thugs got the bail in 30 minutes while some reportes who tried to cover this incident were jailed and tortured! People go to the extent of siding Pak and China to bash our Army! And our courts are incompetant and pathetically slow to understand that Mafia is much smarter than them! Just imagine, We have Brahos Missiles that we cant move it to the borders where it is needed and our environmentalts have gone to court agaisnt widening of the road. Courts just to look fair in the eyes of the world(and the environmentalists from JNU) may not let the road widening!. So, China is happy, Pak is happy, Courts are happy, JNU is happy because they could slow down Modi and India even in the matter of defense! May be if China attacks us, our courts and JNU will fight them!! We dont need any Army! One of the politicans remarted on Galwan incident that soldiers signed up to die when the joined the military Implying they are dispensable lives and dont serve any respect
