February 10, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another action regarding rejuvenation of lakes and other water bodies, city’s Credit-I, in association with Asian Paints, have taken up de-silting of Alanahalli Lake in the outskirts of the city.

Credit-I Managing Trustee M.P. Varsha said that his organisation, in association with seven other organisations, has taken up de-silting of all Lakes in Mysuru and Nanjangud taluks, under ‘Namma Jala Bhadrathe’ Scheme.

Pointing out that with de-silting, the water storage capacity of lakes will increase to a great extent, he said that the removed silt will be given to farmers for enrichment of soil fertility. With the enrichment of soil fertility, the use of fertilisers will come down, he added. Mysuru Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Ramesh launched the works. MNREGA Assistant Director Raghunath, Alanahalli Gram Panchayat PDO Ravi and Kiran Robert were present.
