Mysore/Mysuru: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and former Mayor Purushotham said that a ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ will be taken out by Karnataka Samvidhana Samrakshana Maha Okkoota along with several dalit groups and other organisations on Feb.19 to seek the sacking of Raichur District Judge who had allegedly ordered removal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s portrait during the Republic Day celebrations held in Raichur Court premises on Jan. 26.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Purushotham said that though widespread protests, rallies and demonstrations are going on across the State seeking the dismissal of Raichur District Judge, neither the Government nor the High Court has come up with statements or observations over the issue. As such, several organisations have planned to take out a Vidhana Soudha Chalo.
Over 500 people would be taking part in the rally, Purushotham said adding that the padayatra will be launched from Town Hall at 4 pm on Feb. 14. It will pass through Srirangapatna, Mandya, Maddur, Channapatna and Ramanagara covering more than 25 kms a day and reach Bengaluru on the morning of Feb.19.
