Mysore/Mysuru: “Though you fail in your examinations, don’t be stressed or lose hope. Failure is a stepping stone on the road to success,” said IAS Officer and Hunsur Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner Varnit Negi. He was speaking after inaugurating the 50-day coaching classes for Civil Services (IAS, IPS, IFS) and KAS exams, organised by KSOU Competitive Exams Coaching Centre at Kaveri Auditorium in Muktagangothri campus on Hunsur Road yesterday morning. Over 60 aspirants from different districts are attending the coaching classes.

“Today’s failure will be a lesson to tomorrow’s success. It is important to review yourself and find out the reason for the failure in the exams. Analysing the failures, mistakes and working on it will definitely help one to be successful. Motivate yourself from those who have a positive influence on you. Don’t lose any chance you get and make keen use of all the chances which come to you,” the Assistant Commissioner said.

Stating that it is important to find a way to communicate one’s knowledge, Negi said: “Write essays in simple English which helps in convincing the evaluators about your hold on the language. It is important to keep three key aspects in mind ­— Self Belief, Hard Work and Honesty — in efforts which will lead you to the right path.”

Pointing out that reading newspapers everyday is very important to all those who aspire to become IAS or KAS officers, he said: “Go through all the issues discussed in the newspapers in the form of special articles, columns etc. by expert writers.”

KSOU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. S. Vidyashankar, who presided over the event, said: “Decide what you want to become in future. Make up your mind for it and train yourself everyday to reach your goal. Having self-confidence will help you fulfil your dreams. During the coaching classes make use of the lectures provided by the experts.”

Pointing out that reading editorials in newspapers will help in updating yourself on different issues, the VC said, “Editors throw light on various current issues in their editorials including politics, economy, crime, science and technology etc. which helps in clearing the exams. There are a lot of people who aspire to become an IAS or KAS officer. In order to be one among them, be quick enough to learn things soon.”
