Mysore/Mysuru: Writer Vasantha Kalbagal’s two latest books ‘Some Darshana’ – a compilation of Profiles and ‘Additusha Bakkajabinni’ – humour essays, were released at a programme jointly organised by District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Sahityaloka Publications at Rotary Hall here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Maharani’s Commerce and Management College for Women Kannada faculty Prof. Mysore Krishnamurthy said the facts documented in ‘Some Darshana’ is exciting.
Pointing out that Vasantha’s books focuses on what the society needs more from the cultural front, he said that this will throw more light on the personality of great achievers.
Observing that the book is more significant as it contains the achievements from multiple and varied fields such as Science, Technology, Music, Industry, Sports etc., Prof. Krishnamurthy said that the profiles in the book carry important facts about personalities mentioned in the book, that were hitherto unknown.
Referring to ‘Additusha Bakkajabinni’, Prof. Krishnamurthy said the book is a humorous depiction of the life experiences and narratives of the author Vasantha.
Noting that essays and articles get appreciation from readers because of their narrative style, he said the book belongs to the category of essays on life journey that reach the heart of readers.
Veteran Sugama Sangeetha exponent and Sangeet Natak Academy awardee H.R. Leelavathi, in her address, said Vasantha Kalbagal has identified herself internationally through her style of narration in her books.
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Writers Vasantha Kalbagal, Publisher Raghuveer Samartha and others were present on the occasion.
