Mysore/Mysuru: This year’s Dasara procession held yesterday saw as many as 49 tableaux taking part with 31 of them representing their respective districts and the rest 18 representing different Government Departments.

The tableau of Bagalkot district featured a replica of Badami Chalukya rulers and the popular Sri Banashankaridevi temple, while the tableau of Ballari district featured Kumaraswamy temple, Parvatidevi temple, Embroidery works and Narihalla Dam.

The tableau of Belagavi district featured a replica of Mahalingeshwara temple, Gokak Falls, Suvarna Soudha and statues of Kittur Rani Channamma and Sangolli Rayanna, while the tableau of Bengaluru Rural district featured Shivagange temple at Nelamangala, popularly known as Kashi of the South (Dakshinada Kashi).

It was interesting to note that the Bengaluru Urban district tableau had a replica of Chandrayaan-3 highlighting the success of the mission, a statue of Bengaluru Founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda and  the District Zilla Panchayat Office.

The tableau of Bidar was on Deer Conservation Park, while that of Chamarajanagar district featured folklore art, the statue of Lord Male Mahadeshwara and the district’s rich forests.

The tableau of Chikkaballapur district portrayed a message on Unity in Diversity and Zilla Panchayat, while the tableau of Chikkamagalur district featured its trademark Coffee with the theme ‘Bettadinda Battalige’ (From the Hills to the Cup).

The tableau of Chitradurga district featured the famed Guru Tipperudraswamy temple and the Fort, while the tableau of Dakshina Kannada had a replica of Pilikula Guttinamane, Vivekananda Planetarium and Beach surfing.

The tableau of Davanagere district featured a replica of rich Banjara traditions and depicted the Banjara Guru Sant Sevalal, while the tableau of Dharwad district featured its popular sweet ‘Dharwad Peda’ and the Dharwad Buffalo with the theme ‘Dharwadi Yemme, Namma Hemme’.

Gadag district tableau mainly had a replica of Sabarmati Ashram that is set up in Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University in the district, while the tableau of Hassan featured the replica of the famed Hassanamba temple and Halmadi- Eshwara-Siddeshwara temple.

The Haveri district tableau had a replica of Kaginele Gaddige and Saint Kanakadasa blowing the Conch, while the tableau of Kalaburagi district was a replica of the Fort city, Budha Stupa, Cement factories in the district  and the wildlife of Chincholi forest.

The Kodagu district tableau replicated the famous tourist and picnic spots in the district and its rich forests covered with greenery, while the tableau of Kolar district featured the excavation of ‘Veeragallus’ and rocks.

Koppal district tableau was a replica of Kinnala craftwork and Handlooms, which the district is known for, while the tableau of Mandya district featured its trademark ‘Alemanes’ (jaggery making units) and Sugarcane crop, which the district is famous for.

The Mysuru district tableau showcased several contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, while the tableau of Raichur district featured a replica of Navarang Darwaza and the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS), which is one of the biggest power production units of the State.

The tableau of Ramanagara district featured a replica of the famed Channapatna Dolls and other artworks, while the tableau of Shivamogga district had a replica of Kuvempu statue, Shivappa Nayaka statue, Gudavi Bird Sanctuary, Fort and Wildlife Reserve in the district.

The tableau of Tumakuru showed a replica of Mudalapaya Yakshagana and the Characters, while the tableau of Udupi featured a replica of Waste-free district and Fishing.

The tableau of Uttara Kannada district featured a replica of Sharavathi river, the district’s unique features, rich forests and wildlife, while the tableau of Vijayapura district had a replica of Siddeshwara Swamiji delivering a discourse at Jnana Yogashrama.

The tableau of the newly formed Vijayanagar district featured a replica of the famed Vittala temple near Hampi, while the tableau of Yadgir district featured a replica of the popular Venugopalaswamy temple.

Of the 18 tableaux of Government Departments, 2 were made by the Dasara Tableaux Sub-Committee. These tableaux featured replicas of the performance of Music Bands in Mysore Palace and a replica of UNESCO listed heritage sites of Hoysala temples at Belur, Halebeedu and Somanathapura.

As far as the rest of the 16 Government Department tableaux are concerned, the Social Welfare Department tableau featured a replica of the Preamble of the Constitution and Department’s plans and schemes.

The tableau of Information and Public Relations Department featured a replica of the Five Guarantee Schemes announced by the Government, while the tableau of Women and Child Welfare Department featured a replica of Gruha Lakshmi Guarantee scheme and other plans and programmes of the Department.

The tableau of Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare Department featured a replica of Maharshi Valimiki and the Department’s plans and programmes.

Tableau of Food and Civil Supplies Department featured its ambitious ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme, which is aimed at making a Hunger-free State  and the Public Distribution System (PDS).

The Karnataka Police Department tableau depicted the department’s bravery, justice and safety and security for the people.

The Health  and Family Welfare Department’s tableau featured SOTTO (Organ donation) plan, STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infraction), PCPNDT and other health plans for the population.

The KMF (Karnataka Milk Federation) tableau featured a replica of the Government’s ambitious ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ scheme, under which school children are provided milk for free and a display of the whole range of its popular  ‘Nandini’ brand Milk and Milk products.

The CESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation) tableau featured Gruha Jyothi (free power of 200 Units every month to each eligible households), free power to IP sets, establishment of EV Charger points and formation of Consumers Consultative Committees.

The Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) tableau featured plans for its centenary celebrations (1924-2024).

The Tourism Department’s tableau featured a replica of the famed Lakkundi Jain temple.

Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL) tableau  was on participative and consultative irrigation  and its other irrigation projects.

The city’s AIISH (All India Institute of Speech and Hearing) tableau had a replica of the Institute’s services for the Hearing and Speech impaired.

Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram  Leather Industries Development Corporation’s tableau featured a display of a wide array of leather products and development of leather artisans.

Social Welfare Department’s tableau featured the Spirit of the Indian Constitution.

The tableau of Karnataka State Residential Educational Institutions Society featured a replica of the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, with a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the backdrop. The prizes for the Best Tableau will be announced later in the day today.
