Mysore/Mysuru: International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq has refused to comment on the protests erupting in Mysuru over her selection to inaugurate this year’s Dasara festivities.

Speaking to Star of Mysore from an undisclosed location abroad, where she is currently travelling, Banu Mushtaq responded briefly when asked about the controversy, saying only:

 “No comments.” She immediately disconnected her phone.
