Mysore/Mysuru: St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, in collaboration with its Central Library and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), had organised a day-long workshop on ‘Academic and Research Excellence and Strategies to Enhance Research Visibility, Citations and Impact’ at its premises in city recently.
The workshop aimed at empowering faculty and researchers with tools and strategies to elevate their academic visibility, citations and research impact.
A. Thomas Gunaseelan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physics and the IQAC Coordinator, inaugurated the workshop attended by Rev. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph – President and Rector, Rev. Fr. Gnana Pragasam – Campus Administrator, Rev. Fr. S. David Sagayaraj – Assistant to the Rector, Dr. Ravi J.D. Saldanha – Principal, Ronald Prakash Cutinha – Vice-Principal & Workshop Convener, Dr. C.A. Noor Mubasheer – PG Coordinator and Dr. V. Deepa – IQAC Co-Coordinator.
Prof. D.S. Guru, Senior Professor, Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore, delivered a lecture on the evolving landscape of academic excellence and the imperative of strategic research dissemination.
It was followed by a session on J-Gate by Rathish Iyer, on indexed journals and discovery tools. The second session on EBSCO was conducted by M.S. Srinivasa, who demonstrated the advanced search techniques and access to global academic content. And the final session on DrillBit was held by S. Akash, who showcased the power of plagiarism detection and ethical research practices.
Dr. V. Deepa was the Master of the Ceremony and the participants were engaged in a vibrant exchange of ideas.
