Agniveer Rally in Mysuru from Apr. 19 to 27

Mysore/Mysuru: A total of 6,235 candidates will be taking part in the Agniveer Army Recruitment Rally to be held from Apr. 19 to 27 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad, said Col. Vivek Jamadar, Recruitment Officer of the Indian Army, Bengaluru.

Presiding over a meeting held at Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) office auditorium in Mysuru yesterday, he said that the screening test, the second stage of recruitment process will be conducted for candidates who have passed the written test conducted during June last year.

“This year, a total of 6,043 male and 192 female candidates will undergo the screening tests. Every day, 800 candidates will undergo physical and others tests and only those who get through the physical tests will qualify for the medical test,” he said and added the recruitment rally for women candidates will be held on Apr. 27.

The authorities have made lodging arrangements for candidates at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry and each candidate will be allowed to stay in lodging facility for a day or two.

 Col. Jamadar also requested the Health Department to make arrangements for ambulance, doctors and necessary medicines at the venue along with drinking water, mobile toilets and cleaning arrangements from Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). He also sought deployment of security personnel from the Police Department and tents and CCTV arrangements from Nirmithi Kendra.

He also urged the youth to take part in the Army recruitment process as the Indian Army would conduct more recruitment process till 2030.

“High School students, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers must be allowed to witness the rallies as it would help them in understanding the recruitment process besides encouraging them to join the Armed Forces,” said Col. Jamadar.

Maj. Kapil Kumar Sharma, Medical Officer of the Army Recruitment Office; Subedar Maj. Sham Singh, Deputy Recruitment Officer; Manjunath Reddy, Deputy Director of the Sainik Welfare Department; Dr. Gopinath from the Health Department; and Bhaskar, Assistant Director of DYES, were present.
