November 9, 2017

Mysuru: A day-long workshop on improving SSLC results, jointly organised by the District Administration, ZP, Department of Public Instruction and Rashtriya Madhyamika Shikshana Abhiyana at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram, began this morning.

More than 660 Head Masters /Head Mistress of Government, aided and unaided schools across the district are taking part in this workshop.

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, who spoke after releasing a book titled ‘Action Plan for 200 Days,’ said that the previous DDPI Dr. B.K.S. Vardhan was responsible for bringing out the book, which lucidly explains the action plans for improving SSLC results (2017-18). Pointing out that the main objectives of the workshop is to bring Mysuru to the top in SSLC results, Dr. Mahadevappa said teachers play a key role in this initiative.

Calling upon the teachers to identify children whose academic learning is poor and make efforts improve their learning skills, the Minister said that Mysuru is known for great achievers and academic excellence and in the backdrop, all those involved should strive for bringing Mysuru to top position in SSLC exam.

Expressing disappointment over the district getting 21st place in 2016-17 SSLC results, he said that Matric education is the foundation stone for everyone in their future academic pursuit.

He further said that five resource persons will be appointed for every taluk of the district and they will visit schools to identify poor learners and appropriately advise the teachers on improving their learning ability.

The Minister sought the co-operation of heads of schools and all others involved in bringing Mysuru to the top in SSLC this year.
