Mysuru: The 27th year Brahma Rathotsava for Lord Sri Krishna will be held at Sri Krishna Temple in Gokulam 3rd Stage from Apr.22 to 28.
This will be followed by Karnatak music by Vidushi Aishwarya Srinivas, grand-daughter of Dr. M.S. Subbalakshmi on Apr.29 at 6 pm sponsored by Madhuri Thathachari and Bharathanatya by the disciples of Dr. Vasundhara Doreswamy in memory of late Janaki Alwar on Apr.30 at 6 pm.
Highlights
The celebrations commence with Snapanapoorva Abhisheka to Sri Krishna on the morning of Sunday, 22nd April at 9 am followed by Homa and Hamsa Vahanotsava in the evening.
The second day (23rd) commences with Temple flag hoisting in the morning followed by Vishnu Sahasranama in the evening.
Sudarshana Homa will be conducted by Vidwan Mohan Kumar Bhattar on Apr.24 at 9 am followed by Rukmini Kalyanotsava at 6 pm.
Grand Rathotsava of Sri Krishna idol placed on a decorated chariot drawn by bhaktas will go around Gokulam on Apr. 25 morning starting at 8 am.
Popular Ramatharaka Homa and Hanumantotsava will be held on the evening of Apr. 26 at 6.
On Apr.27, Prakarotsava in the morning and lowering Temple Flag in the evening will be held.
On Apr.28, Amrutha Kalasabhisheka will be held in the morning preceded by immersion of the idol in the Temple Pond. In the evening, on the occasion of Shyanotsava, there will be music concert by Vidushi Vedha Manjunath, disciple of Vidu. Sukanya Prabhakar. On all the days, both in the morning and evening, Mahamangalarathi and Prasada viniyoga will be done, according to B.S. Sridhar Raj Urs.
