This refers to a sincere, simple, straightforward and a no-nonsense Corporator of Gokulam 3rd Stage and surrounding areas (Ward No.6). His name may sound familiar to the people because of his initials ‘SBM’ which stands not for ‘State Bank of Mysore’ but sentimentally for ‘Siddappa, Bhagyamma (his parents) and Mysuru’ — S.B.M. Manju for short.

Having keen interest in our PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, he starts his routine rounds very early in the morning riding his scooter and stopping wherever there is a problem — be it garbage, sewage or water issue. He is easily approachable by anybody even on his mobile phone and is prompt in calling back if there is a missed call.

Recently, we had a major underground sewage problem near our house and he got it cleared immediately taking personal interest. Even many residents have expressed similar views about this people-friendly Corporator.
