Mysuru: About 400 meritorious students from economically backward sections of the society, who had scored more than 80 percent marks in SSLC and PUC, were presented Prathiba Puraskar at a programme organised under the aegis of Mysuru Samajika and Shaikshanika Vikasavedike at Kalamandira in city on Sunday.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, District Principal and Sessions Court Judge S.K. Vantigodi said the efforts of the students, coupled with the blessings of parents were responsible for the academic success of students.
Advising the students not to forget their parents when they grow up, Judge Vantigodi also reminded them to take care of their parents at old age.
Lauding the vedike for its social concerns, he said that rewarding talented students, irrespective of their caste and religion was a good sign and the vedike must continue with its good work.
Academic Trainer M.S. Raghu said that self confidence is the key for success of students, pointing out that the minds of children are sensitive in nature, Raghu underlined the role of parents in building confidence among children.
Calling for maintaining a positive approach in whatever the good work that students do, he cautioned that negative thinking may lead to health issues among children.
Citing the success of India against Pakistan in cricket, Raghu reiterated that having a positive approach is key to achieving success in chosen fields.
