ACC announces Asia Cup 2025 schedule: Indo-Pak clash on Sept. 14

New Delhi, July 27- The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) yesterday announced the schedule for Asia Cup 2025, according to which hosts India will take on arch rivals Pakistan on Sept. 14. The tournament to be played in T20 format will be held from Sept. 9 to 28.

The tournament will feature a total of 19 matches with total of eight teams in two groups. While, India and Pakistan have been named in Group A and the Group B has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.  With four teams to qualify for the Super 4 stage, India and Pakistan are certain to qualify with UAE and Oman being the other two teams in Group A. The group stages matches in the Group B will be interesting with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh fighting for the qualification to Super 4 stage.

Although, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has hosting rights, tournament is being held in UAE – Abu Dhabi and Dubai due to ongoing tensions between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

India will be defending the Asia Cup. The team led by Rohit Sharma had won the tournament in 2023 which was held in 50 over format.
