Adopt Odd-Even date policy for dry and wet waste collection

December 3, 2019

Sir,

We see, hear and talk a lot about effective garbage collection and environmental-friendly disposal. We see majority of people segregating dry and wet waste and handing over the same to MCC workers but it is sad that these workmen recklessly mix it in their containers. In fact it is not their mistake, thanks to ineffective resources deployed by the City Corporations.

I suggest that across the country we should adopt Odd – Even date  policy for dry and wet waste collection similar to Delhi traffic control model for reducing pollution. This model will help and build more efficiency since the available resources will meet the purpose. Secondly no segregation after collection and easily these can be dumped in separate sites.

Hope, this can be adopted quickly by our MCC so that we all can build a Swachh Mysuru and a Swachh Bharat.
