Seeking fulfilment of its various demands, the AITUC (All India Trade Union Congress) will take out a ‘Bengaluru Chalo’ rally on Feb. 1.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Saturday, AITUC National Vice-President H.R. Seshadri said that the AITUC strongly opposes the Centre’s privatisation and pro-corporate policy. Pointing out that the demands include revision of minimum wages, resolution of long-standing labour issues, implementation of the recommendations of the Pay Commission for Government employees etc., he said that the working class is in deep distress over rising inflation and increasing living costs. The AITUC is taking out the Bengaluru Chalo to draw the attention of the Government to pressing labour issues, he said.
Thousands of workers from different parts of Karnataka will gather in the State Capital on Feb. 1, where a massive rally will be held at Freedom Park, he said.
AITUC office-bearers N.K. Devadas, Somaraje Urs, D. Jagannath and Ramu were present at the press meet.
