Drivers, conductors stage protest

Mysuru: Alleging manhandling by an in-charge Traffic Controller (TC) on a driver, who was having breakfast at City Bus Stand, a few drivers and conductors staged a protest in the bus stand and refused to operate buses this morning.

Bus driver Kempegowda, attached to Sathagalli Bus Depot, was having breakfast on the platform when in-charge TC Srinivasamurthy, allegedly abused him stating that he was spoiling the platform and pushed the driver.

As the news spread, other drivers and conductors at the bus stand, stopped their operations and staged a protest demanding action against Srinivasamurthy, resulting in traffic jam at KR Circle and Sayyaji Rao Road. KSRTC Depot Manager Mathew, ACP (Traffic) K.N. Madaiah and Devaraja Traffic Inspector Santosh Kumar, rushed to the spot and managed to pacify the protestors. Buses began to ply after the Depot Manager assured the protestors of taking action.
