Arm wrestlers win titles in Dasara tournament

Various wrestlers won the titles at Dasara Arm Wrestling (Panja) Tournament organised at D. Devaraj Urs Multi-purpose Stadium, next to Dasara Exhibition Grounds in the city on Oct. 18 evening.

B.V. Srinivas of Bengaluru won ‘Dasara Sri’ title, K.N. Madhuri also of Bengaluru ‘Dasara Kumari’ title, Manjunath Pawar a disabled in the category of ‘Dasara Vishesha Chetana’ and Rizwana Jamdar of Belagavi ‘Dasara Nava Chetana’.

Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. B.N. Nandini, who is also the Deputy  Special Officer of Dasara Wrestling Sub-Committee, distributed the certificates and trophies to the winners.

Arm wrestling coach Vishwanath, Inspector Srikanth and office-bearers of Wrestling Sub-Committee were present.

Freestyle wrestling tournament for Chief Minister Cup and Nada Kusti (Traditional Wrestling) bouts were also conducted on the day.

A total of 38 pairs of wrestlers who participated in Nada Kusti, stole the show.
