January 29, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another fire mishap reported in the city in recent days, the first floor of a house caught fire at Alanahalli, destroying household articles.

The house located behind the bus stop at Giridarshini Layout in Alanahalli, is said to have caught fire when nobody was in the house. Flames that erupted from the first floor of the house spread to the outside, when neighbours alerted Fire personnel.

Fire tenders from Bannimantap Fire Station rushed to the spot within minutes and succeeded in dousing out the fire. However by then, most of the household articles were reduced to ashes, it is learnt.

The fire is said to have been caused by a lit candle, which fell down due to the wind, resulting in window screens and other clothing materials catching fire.

The occupants of the house had gone out after lighting a candle close to a window, it is learnt.

Fire Officer Shivaswamy, staff Arjun, Satyanarayan, Krishna, Seenu, Mahadeva and Raghavendra took part in the operation.
